Nutrition Coaching

Food is fuel for our bodies, a powerful tool that we can harness to power us through our day. It is the source of nutrients that the human body needs. Understanding our relationship with food, which can be complex for many, is the first step towards taking control of our health and well-being.

There is what to eat, how much to eat, how often, and in what proportions. If that isn’t enough, there are food preferences, personal histories with food, cultural differences in food and lifestyle, and spiritual and religious considerations in foods consumed. There is much information out there about what we can eat. How do you keep up with it all?

Many people begin their fitness journey with goals for weight loss (and, in some cases, weight gain) or wanting to change their body composition (lose fat, re-distribute weight on their frame, change their appearance, etc.). Some people must manage their food intake to deal with their health conditions.

Food is also social – going out to eat, celebrating with family and friends over food, travelling for leisure or work that disrupts routines. We are constantly faced with choices related to food.

Trying to navigate eating pattern changes with a restrictive diet is often bound to fail. Highly specific meal plans can be overwhelming and require preparation that isn’t part of daily/weekly routines. So, how can you eat better and more effectively to meet your goals?

Our approach begins with a personalized assessment, a journey of exploration into the macronutrient groups that shape our eating habits. We delve into your preferences, readiness for change, available resources, and support systems. Together, we create personalized food guidelines, sample meals, and track your progress in building new, sustainable habits.

Throughout our coaching, we will emphasize the importance of simple ingredients, fresh food, smart choices, portion sizing, and self-monitoring. We will also explore potential sabotage factors and strategies for recovery. We are here to support you in a non-judgmental and understanding way, helping you to meet your goals with confidence and encouragement.
